Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 14 October 2016

Miss Bradshaw would like to pass on her thanks to all the parents who helped accompany our nursery children on their trip to the library this week. We hope to do more trips like this throughout the year which is only possible with parental support.

A huge thank you to all families for the amazing response to our harvest collection for Rochdale Foodbank. They came into school on Friday 14 October and were overwhelmed with the amount we have collected. They asked us to pass on their thanks for the generosity.

All parents should now have a parent’s meeting appointment for next week. If any parents haven’t, please contact the teacher to arrange this. Please can parents arrive at the agreed appointment time to allow things to run smoothly. Thank you.

Our Community Cohesion ambassadors, accompanied by Mrs Terry & Miss Mullane, visited Marland Hill this week to take part in their first session working collaboratively with their partners from Marland & Lowerplace. They worked very well and we will update you on the website throughout the year on the work they are doing.

We will be holding a non-uniform day next Friday 21 October in recognition of the charity ‘Show Racism the Red Card’. All children are asked to wear red and make a donation of 50p, which we will donate to this cause. Thank you for the support as always!

A reminder that Places are still available for children across the whole of school in our Breakfast Club. Following feedback from parents we have extended the hours for this and you can now drop your children off from 8:00am (if they require a breakfast please ensure children arrive before 8.30am.) The price remains the same as last year at only £1 per day, this is exceptional value in comparison to other providers in the area. Payment needs to be made in advance for the half term to secure your child’s place, please see the school office for further details.

The school will close at 3.15pm on Friday 21 October for the half term break and will re-open on Monday 31 October at 8.50am.
