Logan Ridings special day at Manchester City

Date published: 12 April 2017

Logan Ridings, 6, from Rochdale, was the lucky winner of a recent competition to attend Manchester City’s City Family Day at the City Football Academy.

The event, which was launched especially for the 2016/17 season, invites families to enjoy a free immersive experience full of family friendly activities ahead of Premier League home games.

Logan and his Dad, Scott Ridings, were invited to the City Football Academy to join in the fun of City Family Day.

Hosted on the very same indoor pitch that the men’s first team train on, Logan met club mascots, Moonchester and Moonbeam, and got up close and personal with the club’s recent silverware including the FA Women’s Super League and FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup trophies.

They also had the chance to play five-a-side matches, take part in a range of fun football skills games like free kick challenges, penalty shoot-outs, and keepie uppie contests, and all with the chance to win exclusive prizes, such as being the player mascot for that day’s Premier League match. Further entertainment included face painting, Match Attax, table football, a photo booth, live music and more.

To close the pre-match event, Logan joined flag bearers and City Square presenters on a 'March to the Match' over the City Football Academy bridge to join the rest of the home team fans as they gathered at the Etihad Stadium ahead of kick-off.

Logan’s Dad, Scott, said. “We couldn’t have asked for a better way for Logan to experience his first ever football match. He really enjoyed every minute of the day, topped off with a fantastic result for City against Hull.”
