Stephen Duffy to raise funds for Springhill Hospice playing darts dressed as a woman

Date published: 25 May 2017

Stephen Duffy is taking on a darts challenge with an unusual twist on Wednesday 31 May. To raise funds for Springhill Hospice, he will take on Rochdale’s Sharon Seed, who was crowned ladies’ champion of the North West in 1991, in a charity game dressed as a woman.

The game will take place following a match between the Black Dog and the Moonspinners in Milnrow.

As Stephen’s uncle is being cared for Springhill Hospice, after being diagnosed with lung cancer, the charity of choice was clear.

The Rochdale man has already surpassed his £500 target, which his partner, Terri-Marie Evans, who plays for the Black Dog Spotland darts team, says was unexpected.

After it was suggested that Stephen dress up as a woman following a darts game, he gave it serious consideration and told Terri-Marie he would do it for a good cause.

Terri-Marie added: “He’s that type of person to do anything for a laugh.”
