Date published: 13 July 2017

Former policewoman and JP Ann Stott took up her Rochdale Rotary President's duty for the next 12 months from John Holder at a handover ceremony at Richard Street Masonic Buildings on 7 July.

She said: "I am looking forward to my year as President and my charities will be Rochdale Heartbeat and Springhill hospice.

“I intend to help the club expand and maintain its proud traditions of helping the local community."

Her first duty will be to attend the club’s inaugural Classic Car Show at Hollingworth Lake on Sunday 16 July with 115 cars already registered.

A fund-raising afternoon tea at the Town Hall is also planned Saturday 7 October, from 2.00pm and a 5K Reservoir Run on Wednesday 20 September in collaboration with Petrus.

Past president John Holder said: "The Club is having a busy time and it will be great to have Ann at the helm to keep the ship going."
