Heywood Prince’s Trust Team complete project at Bridgewood Lodge

Date published: 21 July 2017

The Heywood Prince’s Trust Team presented a completed community project at Bridgewood Lodge in Heywood on Thursday (20 July).

The Mayor and Mayoress, Ian and Christine Duckworth, attended the event with local councillors, including Peter Rush.

The Prince’s Trust complete a 12-week programme for young adults aged 16-25 years. As part of the programme, they complete a community project.

The team raised just under £500 towards the project at Bridgewood Lodge, helping enhance the outdoor area of the lodge and work alongside residents to improve the gardens.

As a result, they were entered into Heywood in Bloom as a last-minute entry due to the amount of work completed on the lodge.

Team leader Sinead Grimes commented: “This was a fantastic day supported by our local community.

“Janet Murray (management) has been brilliant and welcoming and provided so much support to the young persons, along with the residents who made us feel welcome and supported us throughout.”
