Date published: 25 July 2017

"A brilliant and enjoyable afternoon" was how audience members described The MAD Theatre Company production of 'Madsummer Merriment' at Butterworth Hall Community Centre in Milnrow on Sunday.

Two one act plays were performed on the day and the event also included a raffle, quiz, and refreshments, all for just six pounds.

The company were praised for the event with the directors being congratulated and the performance described as brilliant.

Chairwoman Margaret Hopkinson said: “Several audience members stopped to tell me what a brilliant and enjoyable afternoon they had had and would like to see more social events presented by the society.”

Society publicity officer, Kyle Wilcock said: “We are very grateful to our loyal audiences for their kind comments, dedication to MADs and support they give us.

“The MAD Theatre Company was founded in 1971 with the aim to promote live theatre to the people of Milnrow and District.

“We are always on the lookout for new members and volunteers to help us expand the society and present plays more frequently.

“We are currently looking for a voluntary lighting and sound assistant who would be a vital part of the production team.

“If these opportunities are of interest to you then we would love to hear from you, simply send an email to foh.mads@gmail.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can.”

The event raised £670.
