A classic Royal Mail postbox has received a lick of paint as part of the ongoing spruce up of Firgrove village.

After canvasing the opinion of local business owners and residents, Councillor John Blundell contacted Royal Mail as the post box needed a little tender loving care.

Councillor Blundell said "I would like to thank Royal Mail for the speedy and impressive job they have carried out.

"It is amazing what a lick of paint can do. There is something special about classic old postboxes and now its back to its original colour it looks better than ever."

Jay Darlington, al local resident, said: "I have lived in Firgrove all my life and I have never seen it looking so smart.

"I especially like the hanging baskets put up by J & S Wilkinson and the mailbox looks fab."
