Date published: 12 September 2017
Firefighters and volunteers at Rochdale and Littleborough Community fire stations raised over £600 with their annual car wash.
Blue Watch got their sponges soaked to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity, which formed during the Second World War to support the bereaved families of firefighters who had died during the Blitz.
Rochdale raised £412 and Littleborough raised £270, with volunteers young and old getting stuck in.
Heywood Community Fire Station will take part in a car wash on 23 September between 10am and 4pm.
All donations made go the Fire Fighters Charity, who support over 5,000 beneficiaries a year through a broad range of services.
