Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 15 September 2017

Miss Bradshaw and Mrs Coward would like to thank the parents of the Nursery children who welcomed them into their homes last week. Home visits are very important and have a positive impact on children’s transition to Nursery. This ensures a fantastic start to their journey at Hamer School.

A huge well done to all of the Nursery and Reception children who have all settled so well into Hamer.

On Thursday 21 September Year 6 will be stepping back in time into Wartime Britain at the Stockport Museum and Air Raid Shelters and Year 3/4 will be visiting the Egyptian exhibition at Manchester Museum.

We would like to assure parents that all children are monitored during lunchtimes. If there are any concerns regarding eating this will be noted on a daily basis and monitored, where appropriate these concerns will be raised directly with parents.

The Senior Leadership Team have been working, and continue to work with an English consultant to bring even greater excitement and challenges to our reading curriculum. Staff are very enthusiastic about continuing on this journey throughout the year.

Well done to Mr Barraclough’s Class with best attendance for week ending 8 September 2017.

Hamer ‘Stars of the Week’ for week ending 15 September are:

Citizens of the week for the week ending Friday 15 September are the whole school for their fantastic attitudes, smart uniforms and brilliant smiles on their return to school.

We request that parents do not park on Calder Street during drop off and collection times, this is dangerous for both pedestrians and cars.

We are currently recruiting for casual lunchtime staff to come and help on days we may be short staffed, anyone interested please contact the school office.
