Hopwood Hall College high achievers celebrate graduation at town hall

Date published: 24 September 2017

Over 70 students from Hopwood Hall College graduated from higher education courses during a ceremony held at Rochdale Town Hall.

The students graduated from a range of courses, including Electrical Engineering, Early Years, Games Development and Sports Coaching.

Among the 250 attendees were MPs Tony Lloyd and Liz McInnes as well as Rochdale Mayor, Ian Duckworth and Mayoress Christine Duckworth.

During the event, Hopwood Hall College Principal, Derek O’Toole, said of the students’ efforts: “It is fantastic to see so many of our students celebrating their hard earned results with their families tonight.

"The college really values higher education and it is a very rewarding experience to see such a positive end result to both students' and staff’s hard work.

“We recently topped the 2017 Higher Education Funding Council England’s National Student Survey for all of Greater Manchester, so it is thrilling to see such sustained success coming from our higher education courses.

“I would like to congratulate all of tonight’s graduates on their success and wish you all the best of luck with you futures.”
