Girlguiding Lancashire South East, which covers areas of Rochdale, Oldham, Bury and Heywood, gathered together at Rochdale Town Hall to celebrate accomplishments by their volunteers.

Three 50 years’ service awards were given out to  Pauline Whitehead, Lynn Smith and Ellen Hendry.

Lynne Scales, County Commissioner, said: “I am delighted to be able to award these three ladies with their 50 years’ service awards. Girlguiding is such a huge part of their lives and it is only right that they are acknowledged for their service, support and passion.

“Pauline, Lynn and Ellen all bring a wealth of knowledge and support, not only to me but anyone who requires it. Nothing is too much for them and we are lucky to have these ladies in Lancashire South East.”

Other awards given out included Duke of Edinburgh awards for Senior Section members, County Thanks Awards for those who have gone above and beyond what is required and service awards, ranging from 10 years up to 50 years’ service to Girlguiding.
