Hopwood Hall College ranked in the top 10 UK organisations for employment diversity

Hopwood Hall College was ranked the 10th best employer in The Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List, beating some of the UK’s biggest employers; including the likes of EON, Allianz and Sky.

The National Diversity Awards’ Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List is a definitive list of UK based organisations that promote inclusion across all protected characteristics, throughout each level of employment within an organisation.

Demonstrating the promotion of all strands of diversity including age, disability, gender, LGBT, race, faith and religion; the list focuses on representation at management, senior, executive and board level.

In the education sector, only The Open University ranked higher than Hopwood Hall College, featuring in third place. Other education providers ranked further down the Top 50 list included The University of Manchester and Gateshead College.

Caroline Street, Executive Director at Hopwood Hall College, attended The National Diversity Awards hosted at Manchester’s Midland Hotel and spoke of the college’s efforts to promote employment diversity, she said: “We are very proud of our ranking in the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers, we have been working hard to translate the positive inclusive culture we have amongst our learners at the college to our workforce.

“Hopwood Hall College is a diverse community and we celebrate daily the differences of everyone in our college community. All of our staff are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and this makes the college a happy and harmonious place to work, to study and to thrive.

“This achievement recognises the importance we place on inclusivity and will be a springboard to push on for greater diversity.”
