Fisherfield nativity play for Half Acre House Nursing Home

Date published: 14 December 2017

Fisherfield Childcare’s children visited the residents at Half Acre House residential care home on Roch Valley Way, Rochdale.

Whilst they were there, The School House nursery in Middleton also performed a a dress rehearsal of their Christmas nativity play.

The children talked with the residents about their roles in the nativity and their families at home.

They had photos of their families to share with the residents who also had pictures of their families and themselves when they were younger.

They enjoyed listening to stories the residents told and were even more impressed by the Swiss roll they all got to share at the end.

Children from Fisherfield Childcare visit Half Acre on a weekly rota, singing songs, holding dance competitions, showing their science experiments and other activities.

The manager of The School House said: “The children have struck up wonderful relationships with the residents and we know this will also help them to develop and grow in confidence when talking to the older generation.”
