The refurbished quiet lounge at the Dementia Nursing Unit at Carders Court
Residents at a Rochdale care home are benefitting from a newly refurbished quiet lounge.
The transformation took place at the Dementia Nursing Unit at HC-One’s Linden House, based in the multi-site Carders Court, with the aim of providing a haven of space for residents wanting quiet space to rest, reflect and recuperate.
Shaun Morrissy, HC-One Care Home Manager at Carders Court, commented: “The quiet lounge provides a retreat for our residents to go and relax, read or meet up with visiting family members. We’re delighted with the work and we would like to thank Bunnings Warehouse for their help.”
Richard Hammond, Rochdale Complex Manager at Bunnings Warehouse, said: “HC-One does some fantastic work in caring for people in the community and we were happy to help refurbish its lounge.”
Carders Court has also secured a Disability Funding Grant to convert three bathrooms and fit three new wet rooms. Residents living with dementia and physical disabilities and staff assisting them to shower will benefit from a much improved wet room setting.
The work is in progress and due to be completed by the end of the month.
Specialising in residential, dementia residential, dementia nursing and general nursing care, Carders Court is a multi-site care home offering short and long-term stay to elderly ladies and gentlemen within the community.
