Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea at the Norton Grange – Sunday 11 March
Mother’s Day Activities, Ham Fest Comic-Con, Apprenticeships open day, Grand re-opening of the Village Medical Centre, Norden Jubilee Park big clean, Digital skills for jobs, Quiz nights, Sponsored walks and runs, Cycle Hub, Live music and Rochdale Youth Festival of Performing Arts - lots to do around the borough.

Mother’s Day Activities – Gordon Rigg Garden Centre Rochdale, Sat 10 & Sun 11 March, 10am – 12pm & 2pm – 4pm
Come along to our Mother's Day activities. Whether it's painting, planting or both, these gift ideas will be perfect for that special person in your life.
- Friday 9 March
General Knowledge Quiz Night – Rochdale Masonic Hall, 7.30pm start
This is a social night and the quiz is open to guests, friends and family to play in teams of 4 or 6.
Live Music: The Jackson Kay Band – Empire Rochdale, 6pm – 4am
Playing a range of feel-good, party vibe, get up and dance tunes as well as funky disco & soul to up to the minute chart pop, and indie.
Live Band: AMUSED – The Flying Horse Hotel, band on at 10pm
Performing songs across all 7 Muse Albums, including the latest studio album "Drones", as well as hits from The Killers, The Darkness, Queen, Blur, Kings of Leon, Bon Jovi and many more.
Angie’s Angels drop in coffee morning – Petrus Hub, 10am – 12pm
This is a chance to come and chat to the team about household items you may need or to simply sit and chat in a warm, safe environment with a hot brew and a biscuit.
Apprenticeships Open Day – KYP Training, 10am – 3pm
The day is designed to give you as much information as possible about apprenticeships, as well as participating in a CV workshop, providing interview techniques and a session on confidence building.
Fire Service Museum Weekly Open Day – Greater Manchester Fire Service Museum, 10am – 4pm
Fire museum attractions will be on show including our collection of historic firefighting artefacts from the 18th century to present day.
Digital Skills for Jobs Session – Number One Riverside, 10am – 11.30am
Learn about searching and applying for jobs online, how to use email and get tips on how to write a CV.

- Saturday 10 March
Grand re-opening of the Village Medical Centre – Littleborough, 10am – 3pm
There will be an official ribbon cutting at 10.30am by the Mayor of Rochdale followed by a tour, flu vaccinations and free health checks.
Ryann’s Run – Meeting next to the Beach at Hollingworth Lake, 11am
A sponsored run, walk or stroll around the lake to raise money for the Brain and Spine foundation.
Beech House Open Day Seniors & Upper Prep – Beech House School, 9am – 12pm
Beech House School is an independent co-educational day school for boys and girls aged 2 to 16 years. Beech House School has been based at the Manchester Road site since 1850.
Norden Jubilee Park Big Clean – Norden Jubilee Park, 10am – 12pm
Following the massive success of last year’s event, with over 60 bags of rubbish collected, we hope again that this year will be another litter busting event and that we will see the community once again come together to keep Norden tidy.
Organ Concert – Rochdale Town Hall, 12pm
Rachel Mahon from Chester Cathedral performs the 4th of our lunchtime celebrity recitals on the magnificent organ of Rochdale Town Hall.
Cycle Hub Let’s Ride – Hollingworth Lake Activity Centre, 1pm – 3pm
We can supply the bikes and helmets. Our fun rides will start at the centre and take you on a tour around the area.
Live Band: Who’s Next – Empire Rochdale, 6pm – 4am
Who’s Next capture a magical point in time when many believe that The Who were the greatest rock and roll band on earth.
Adult Craft Workshop: Warp, Weft and Wood – Touchstones Rochdale, 10.30am – 12.30pm & 1.30pm – 3.30pm
Join local artist Vincent James for a bespoke workshop to create an organic woven sculpture using found branches as a loom for your weaving design. Learn new hand weaving techniques with textile art work.
Heywood Explorer Scouts Afternoon Tea - St Johns Church Hopwood, 2pm – 4pm
Members of Heywood Explorer Scouts have been selected to represent the UK at the 24th World Scout Jamboree which will be held in 2019 in the USA. Each member must secure £4000 to attend and it must be raised through fundraising and sponsored events.
A Night of Folk and Blues – St Edmund’s Church Falinge, 7pm – 10.30pm
There will be music from artists such as 'Katie O’Malley', 'County Rats', 'Christian Greenhalgh' and 'Cafe Misfits'.
Rochdale Exchange Small Business Market – Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre, 9am – 5.30pm
Showing support for some of the best businesses in the town by welcoming more than 10 local retailers to the centre as part of a special market.

Mother’s Day at the Norton Grange – Mercure Norton Grange Hotel & Spa
Treat your mum to afternoon tea or lunch in the elegant Grange Restaurant with background music from the renowned Liz Hendry on her white baby grand piano.
Ham Fest Comic-Con in association with Springhill Hospice – Rochdale Leisure Centre, 11am – 5pm
An amazing comic con right in the heart of Rochdale; packed full of movie and tv characters, unique movie sets and props, a fantastic mix of traders selling geeky products, cosplay competitions, dance displays and plenty of fun ingredients for the whole family!
Free Mums Brunch – Syke Chapel, 10.30am – 12pm
Come along to share a treat with us for free! Warm, buttery toast, croissants, pastries and endless tea and coffee!
Rochdale Youth Festival of Performing Arts – Rochdale Town Hall, hall opens at 9am
This weekend the piano players will be showcasing their talents.
Littleborough Community Market – Littleborough Town Square and Coach House, 10am
Includes the craft fair in the Coach House, table-top sale in the boxing club and a car boot sale behind the boxing club.
Michael Bublé Tribute (Mother’s Day Special) – Empire Rochdale, 6pm – 2am
James Tomlinson sings Michael Bublé with charm and sophistication, captivating the true sound and he is fast becoming a leading Michael Bublé tribute act.
Re-opening of Millcroft Tea Gardens – Millcroft Tea Gardens, 12pm – 6pm
