Tenants and employees recognised at RBH awards

Date published: 15 August 2018

Tenants, residents, and RBH employees had their dedication and commitment recognised on Tuesday at the annual RBH Values In Practice (VIP) awards, held at Rochdale Rugby Club.

The annual awards are a chance to say thank you to tenants, employees and residents who reflect RBH's values by making a real difference to neighbours, colleagues, and local communities.

Almost 100 nominations were received across the eight categories, reflecting the hard work of community volunteers and employees in Heywood, Middleton, Rochdale and the Pennines area.

The winners were:

  • Best newcomer: Lauren Gibson and Paul Willmore
  • Community volunteer: Rachael Warwick
  • Constant contributor: Davina Unsworth
  • Good neighbour: Mike Nolan
  • Improving RBH services: Rachel Saunders
  • Team of the year: the “Pass It On” team
  • Supporting RBH independent living schemes: Jane Cowan
  • Workplace volunteer: Anthony Brennan

RBH Chief Executive, Gareth Swarbrick, was invited to choose from the eight winners for a special “Chief Executive’s Choice” award, which he awarded to Anthony Brennan.

Mr Swarbrick said: "We understand that people don’t do what they do for fame and fortune but on occasion, it’s nice to show that we appreciate what they do and publically recognise their achievements.

"We had so many fantastic nominations that it was almost impossible to choose a shortlist for each category, never mind decide on an overall winner. Congratulations and more importantly thank you to everyone who was nominated for your hard work and dedication.

"It was an extremely tough decision to make for the Chief Executive's Choice award. Anthony is a superb role model for the local community, his commitment during his work experience placement with RBH was exemplary, and I'm delighted that he has now moved on into full-time employment. I am delighted that we were able to send him off with an award."
