RO reporter gets fit at Link4Life
Date published: 04 February 2009
Rochdale Online reporter Kirsty Rigg has swapped her notepad and pen for weights and drinking water as she takes on a Link4Life challenge at the central leisure gym in Rochdale.
Link4Life, which is run by Rochdale Borough Council, has kindly given the energetic journalist a gym membership, in return for a weekly diary as she aims to drop a dress size for summer.
Kirsty will be reporting on her journey to fitness at Link4Life Rochdale, and also plans to pop in to the Middleton branch to write a review.
Personal trainer Chris Hepwood provided Kirsty with a guided tour of the facilities last night (Tuesday 3 February), and has promised to guide her in achieving her aims.
Kirsty said: “Exercising is often strenuous, but there is a TV attached to all the cardio equipment, meaning I can watch the news or music channels as I run, which helps to pass the time”.
“I’m not used to that much exercise so I’m a bit sore from my first work out, but that is a good sign!”.
“The staff here are really helpful and I look forward to spending more time here”.
Kirsty’s details for week one:
- Weight: 10st 7
- Height: 5’7
- Dress Size: 12
- Body Mass Index: 24.3 (ideal BMI is between 20 and 25)
