High hopes for Rochdale
Date published: 31/03/2005
Khalid Hussian, the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Rochdale, has spoken of his beliefs in the future of the Rochdale Conservatives. He is a justice of the peace, and has been the Chief Executive of a Company that helps victims of crime and in justice since 2002, and has served as the Director of Bury Racial Equality Council, and was elected as Prospective Parliamentary Candidate in November last year.
Khalid explained why he chose the Conservatives: “When I look at myself and the person I am, the Conservative Party best represents me. The Conservatives look closely into family values, lower tax rates and freedom of speech, and I respect their sense of morality.”
Khalid also believes that the conservative values reflect the views of today’s ethnic minorities: “Muslims are especially affected by the conservative campaigns. When Muslims first came into the country in the 1950’s and 60’s, they were labourers, and they naturally voted for Labour. Times have changed now, and those labourers have grown to be successful people. The Conservative Party is the next step forward.
We have just opened our new office in the centre of town, and we have a very strong campaign team. I have worked very hard and I feel proud to be on this campaign.
I am a councillor in Bury, but I am willing to put my efforts into Rochdale as I can see the great potential.”
