Date published: 29/06/2005
The 23 year old woman who was involved in the house fire in Sparthbottoms in the early hours of Saturday 25 June 2005 has died in hospital.
Layla Wild of Albion Road, Rochdale died on the evening of Tuesday 28 June, as a result of the injuries she sustained in the fire.
This brings the total number of deaths from this fire to four.
Layla's daughter, Courtney Nabb of Albion Road, Rochdale, and a family friend's son, Cole Samuel Lawrence Ridgway of Pitts Farm Avenue, Rochdale were pronounced dead at the scene of the fire.
Layla's step brother, Alan Vance Wild of Clovelly Street, Rochdale was taken to Rochdale Infirmary where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Initial indications are that the fire started as a result of a possible electrical fault in the kitchen of the house. Forensics teams are continuing to work to establish the exact cause.
Layla didn't regain consciousness following the fire and was therefore not aware that her daughter had died.
