Man's body discovered in river at Smallbridge

Police are appealing for information after a man's body was discovered in the river on Sunday 11 December 2005.

At approximately 1pm police were called to Dye House Lane in Smallbridge following reports that a body had been seen in the river.

Officers attended and recovered the body of a man from the water.

The man has since been identified as James Anthony Savage (DOB 30/05/83) of Rochdale Road, Firgrove.

It is believed he had fallen off a motorbike he was riding the previous evening and had been in the river since.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
