A Year In The Life Of Rochdale And District
Date published: 28/07/2008
Rochdale Moviemakers, Rochdale's amateur film making group, are embarking on recording 'A Year In The Life Of Rochdale And District' with a view to staging a public show in a years time.
A spokesman for the moviemakers said: "Rochdale currently has a pretty tarnished image due to congestion problems caused by multiple roadworks on main routes being carried out at the same time, depleted shopping facilities and the recent live news broadcasts from Falinge.
"We want to put forward a more positive view of the borough because so many positive things happen within communities. To this end, we are going to be filming events that take place in the borough and will be posting very short (taster) extracts from our filming online.
"Over the weekend we filmed the Rushbearing procession in Littleborough, Castleton Carnival, the Pace Egg play performed by the Curtain Theatre. We have already posted short extracts showing some of these activities on online and will continue to do so as we film more.
"We’d be interested to hear from individuals or groups who are organising activities which they think would make a good addition to the film."
