In Town Without My Car Day
Date published: 20/09/2007
System One Travelcards, Greater Manchester's multi-operator/multi-mode travelcard provider, is using its 'Mr Red' mascot to promote public transport in the run up to 'In Town Without My Car Day' at a number of key interchange locations across the region next week.
In Town Without My Car Day is held annually on 22 September and is promoted to remind people about the opportunities for using public transport in order to get to work, go shopping, get to the football, enjoy a night out, or simply to make the most of leisure time.
The System One DaySaver for example offers a ticket to all that Greater Manchester has to offer, by enabling passengers to travel on any bus (peak and off-peak), or any combination of bus, train or tram (off-peak only) to reach their destination.
Allie Johns, marketing manager for System One Travelcards said: "With In Town without my Car Day coming up we wanted to remind the people of Greater Manchester there is a range of multi-operator/mode travelcards which are available to use as an alternative to the car all across the region. The System One DaySaver is particularly good for those unfamiliar with the local public transport network, as you can hop on and off as many times as you like, meaning you don't have to worry about who you're travelling with."
