Knifepoint robbery at Newhey off-licence

The owner of Newhey off-licence on Huddersfield Road was held at knifepoint by robbers who entered his lock-up shop around 9.30pm tonight (Wednesday 20 February).

Mr Patel was shaken but not hurt - it is not known at this stage what was stolen.

Five police vehicles attended.

UPDATE

Police have confirmed the robbers escaped with a small quantity of cash (£200).
