Public railway seminar
Date published: 19/02/2008
Local rail passengers are being given the chance to discuss developments on the train network at a public meeting next week.
Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority (GMPTA) is holding a seminar on Wednesday 27 February to discuss the latest situation on the region’s railways.
Registration for the event, which will be held in the Council Chamber at Manchester Town Hall, will be at 10am for a 10.30am start.
Representatives from Northern Rail, First TransPennine Express, Arriva Cross Country, Network Rail, GMPTE and the Friends of Eccles Rail Station will be giving presentations on various aspects of the region’s railways and their plans for the future.
Roger Jones, Chairman of GMPTA, said: "We want to keep people informed about public transport developments and give them a chance to have their say.
"This seminar is a great opportunity for people to find out about what’s happening with their local train services and stations – and to let us know what their priorities are.
"I would urge anyone with an interest in improving our train network to come along."
Anyone interested in attending should register.
