Anila wins College Christmas card competition
Date published: 14/12/2006
Hopwood Hall College student Anila Kouser has been presented with £25 worth of HMV vouchers by Principal Derek O’Toole as the winner of the College Christmas card competition. Her festive design was chosen from a selection of entries from other students, to be on the cover of the official College card sent out by staff to wish associates of the College a "Merry Christmas’. The design has also been adapted into an e-card that can be sent out via email.
Anila is a student on the Lifeskills course, which caters for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities, who are aged 16 and over. The aim of the course is to prepare students for an independent life and encourage them into the world of work or further study.
Anila was given her prize as part of a presentation evening for entry level students and their parents and friends on 6th December. The students received their awards and certificates for the qualifications they have gained in the past year.
Principal Derek O’Toole said: "Anila’s design was really eye catching and I liked it as soon as I saw it. She has really captured the spirit of the season with the brightly coloured lights on the Christmas tree. I will be sending a letter to Anila’s parents to let them know that I think she has done an excellent job."
