Customer service awards for council staff

Excellent customer service will be celebrated in Rochdale on Thursday 12 October, at an awards ceremony marking National Customer Service Week.

Rochdale Council asked people using its services to nominate members of staff who have provided outstanding service to their customers in the past year. And customers responded with hundreds of examples.

The staff nominated for the most exceptional examples will gather at Rochdale Town Hall. The 152 successful nominees come from all parts of the Council's services, including housing, leisure, planning, child care and payroll.

Deputy Mayor Peter Evans will present the awards. Amongst the categories to be judges will be a Best Overall Team award, and a prize for the Best Overall Individual.

Councillor Evans said: "There are hundreds of examples of excellent customer service across the Council every day, with staff going the extra mile to help customers. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the work that is being done."
