RoFTRA nominates new RBH Board director
Date article online: 18/03/2008
The move to Glasgow of RBH Board Chairwoman Gill Walch has created a vacancy for a tenant member of the RBH Board.
Under RBH's Memorandum & Articles, RoFTRA has the role of nominating a tenant to fill any casual vacancy and the RoFTRA Board nominee to take up the post is Peter Brierley, described by RoFTRA Chief Officer David Barlett as: "One of the best known of the borough's tenants with a remarkable track record in representing tenants' interests".
Mr Brierley's membership of the RBH Board, on the basis of RoFTRA's nomination, will last until RBH's Annual General Meeting in September when he will be eligible for election by tenants for a full term of office.
There will be another vacancy for election besides this one in the run up to the AGM as Keith Barker is also due to stand down in September having completed his term of office.
RoFTRA is currently in discussion with the Council and RBH about the process for those elections.
Gill Walch visited RoFTRA's offices on Thursday just before her move to Glasgow and was presented with an engraved gift from RoFTRA by RoFTRA Secretary Derek Brown and warm applause from RoFTRA's officers and staff.
