Middleton man sentenced for supplying class A drug
Date published: 18/03/2008
Michael Anthony Nevin (21), of Addison Drive, Middleton, pleaded guilty at Manchester Crown Court to conspiracy to supply class A drugs and was sentenced to two years in prison to be served consecutively to a six-year sentence he is currently serving for wounding.
The court heard how a violent clash that broke out in in Livingstone’s nightclub, Oldham and bottles were thrown, causing innocent clubbers and bar staff to flee for their safety and shelter from the torrent of glass.
The fight poured outside and moved on to Yorkshire Street and a long-running street brawl began between two factions of the group.
The men used metal poles torn from railings, heavy stones, refuse bins ripped from their mounting and glass bottles as weapons with the clear intention of inflicting maximum injury on one another.
The fight was captured on CCTV and the offenders were identified from that footage.
In November, 2006, nine men were sentenced to a total of eight years in prison for their role in the fighting.
