New Blood Helps the Heart Pump in Heywood

Tracey Boswell has joined the board of New Heart for Heywood Resident Directors. Ms Boswell who is a resident of Heady Hill and a member of their tenants and residents association is keen to see activities for young people to distract them from anti social behaviour. She said “I am a parent and by joining the New Heart for Heywood board I am interested in all of their projects and want to take a keen interest in them and encourage people to take pride in Heywood but I am mostly keen to see further work and activities for the young people of the town.”

Kate Gibson, John Heywood, Susan Coates, Adrienne Curran, Malcolm Bruce, Ian Hargreaves, Mervyn Simpson, Alan Taylor and Ellen Wintle-Yates remain as Resident Directors.

The current chairwoman of the partnership, Ellen Wintle-Yates added: "It is encouraging that Heart of Heywood NDC still has a good group of ten Resident Directors on board. I welcome the new Resident Director and the remaining Directors are looking forward to supporting her in helping to deliver the programme for the final three years. I would like to remind people that they can still become involved in other ways such as by joining one of our partner theme groups."

The Resident Directors meet regularly and each one of them takes a lead in certain areas to cover the whole spectrum of projects the NDC fund or part fund. Ms Wintle-Yates went on to say: "We are going to see two of our largest projects start building this year, the Health Connections Joint Service Centre and the Sports, Culture and Leisure Village, bringing improved health and fitness opportunities for Heywood residents."
