Man charged over Infirmary stabbing

A man has been charged after another man was stabbed with a cut-throat razor in Rochdale.

Just after 9.00pm on Saturday 22 December police were called to Rochdale Infirmary following reports of men fighting.

On arrival officers found a 20-year-old man with a serious stab wound to his abdomen.

The victim is currently awaiting surgery in hospital to treat his wound. His condition is stable but serious.

Anthony Leach (born 06/03/1977) who was staying at the Salvation Army Hostel on High Street was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault a short time later.

He has since been charged, and appeared before magistrates in Rochdale this morning, Monday 24 December.
