Get your views heard on new health centre

People are being urged to share their views about the new GP Practices and health centre planned for Rochdale. The consultation run by Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Primary Care Trust (HMRPCT) ends on 30 June.

The PCT is funding for three new GP surgeries to be located in Heywood, Central Rochdale and Smallbridge & Wardle, as well as a new health centre in Middleton. They will provide all of the usual services expected from a GP practice but will also offer additional services tailored to the needs of the local population.

Denise Dawson, patient experience manager at the PCT said: “We want to make sure these GP surgeries and the health centre make a big difference to the communities they are in, to help us do that we need to know what services local people would find useful. Some might think that regular parenting classes would be beneficial or sessions on how to stop smoking. We also want to know people’s views on where in each chosen area the facilities could go, as well as what they think about introducing a variety of organisations to run the services. All of these things matter and this consultation will greatly assist in deciding what exactly these new services will offer.”

To ensure people have a say on what services should be provided at their practices, the PCT started a public consultation in April. Patients and the public can take part in the consultation be completing feedback forms provided in the post, by completing the form online:
