Books ‘brought to life’ as authors appear at library
Date published: 25/06/2008
Local writer Pamela Hill will be the special guest at the Wheatsheaf library in Rochdale for their next popular ‘Meet the Author’ event. On Saturday 5 July between 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm, Ms Hill, who was born in Greater Manchester, will be talking about her new novel – ‘A sense of belonging.’ Ms Hill, the only daughter of a fireman and seamstress during the Second World War, showed an interest in literature from an early age, but it wasn’t until she retired that she began to write. Her second book- ‘Alison’ is due to be published later this year.
On Wednesday 30 July, the ‘Meet the Author’ series moves to Spotland Library on Ings Lane, with Shirley Wells appearing between 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm. Everyone is invited to spend a summer evening with Ms Wells, who’ll be talking about her crime novels featuring Jill Kennedy and DCI Max Trentham. Her latest novel ‘A Darker Side’, the second of the trilogy has been published, and is available to borrow from your local library.
Admission to both events is free.
