Good Payers Earn Prize Rewards

As the 2003/04 financial year draws to a close, Rochdale Boroughwide Housing plans to reward its tenants who have been good rent payers by including them in a free prize draw.

At the end of March, all tenants with clear rent accounts will be automatically entered into a prize draw for 3 cash prizes of £250, £150 and £100.

It is hoped that the prize draw will encourage more tenants to clear their accounts especially those who only owe a small amount. The week commencing 29 March is a non-rent week and all tenants in arrears are being contacted and urged to clear or make arrangements to clear their debts during that week.

Paul Neate, RBH Managing Director, said, "Every pound of rent not paid is a pound less we have to spend on improving services to tenants. If tenants are experiencing difficulties in paying their rent, any of our local housing offices can offer help and advice."

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing has an excellent rent collection rate of 99% of all rent due which puts it amongst the top performers in the country, but they are not complacent and are determined to improve still further.

Councillor David Murphy, the Chair of RBH's Board will draw the prizewinners in early April.
