Rochdale Road in Firgrove Closed

A scheme to resurface the road, improve parking and install a puffin crossing on the A640 Rochdale Road in Firgrove reaches its conclusion in the next two weeks.

To allow the safe construction of the crossing, the road will be closed to traffic at Firgrove post office on two Sundays, 26 September and 3 October, between 8.00am and 5.00pm.

All vehicles, including buses, will be diverted via Bridge St, Kiln Lane, Wildhouse Lane, Smithy Bridge Road, Halifax Road and Albert Royds Street.

Travelling from Milnrow, access to properties along Rochdale Road will be possible as far as Juniper Drive.

The A640 is a main route from Rochdale to Junction 21 of the M62 motorway. During the closures, drivers may wish to access the motorway via Junction 20 at Rochdale.
