Simon Danczuk dumped for 'cheating' on girlfriend

Date published: 29 December 2015

Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk has been dumped by his latest girlfriend for "cheating" on her.

Mr Danczuk, 49, had been in a relationship with 32-year-old Leyland councillor Claire Hamilton following his acrimonious split from his wife Karen.

Miss Hamilton claims Mr Danczuk admitted kissing another woman over Christmas and was secretly messaging a teenage singer. She also said Mr Danczuk had been pushing for an open relationship.

Mr Danczuk has form for cheating on the women in his life, his first wife, Sonia, tells of of a number of such misdemeanours during their marriage, she says Mr Danczuk is "incapable of keeping it in his trousers". Mr Danczuk was of course having a clandestine affair with Karen Burke, subsequently the second Mrs Danczuk, whilst still purporting to be happily married to Sonia.

Sonia subsequently divorced Mr Danczuk for his adultery:

Miss Hamilton is also said to be concerned about Mr Danczuk's heavy drinking. She told The Sun that he is a "functioning alcoholic spiralling out of control".

Mr Danczuk's substance abuse is another familiar story; shortly after their split, Karen Danczuk called her MP husband an "arrogant alcoholic".

In an attempt to explain his drinking and behaviour, Mr Danczuk admitted "drinking too much" but claimed that he took to booze due to a battle with depression brought on by his campaign to expose child sex abuse. However, first wife Sonia says Mr Danczuk's heavy drinking is not just recent, it is long term, she says that throughout their lengthy marriage he was a heavy drinker and habitual drug taker - Mr Danczuk previously admitted to having taken class A drugs.
