Irish Rochdale’s success continues
Date published: 29 March 2005
After a very successful St. Patrick’s Celebration Day Parade on Sunday 13 March, organiser Marie Callaghan has confirmed that there is to be a special follow-up talent contest and presentation evening on Tuesday 3 May, at Richmond Hall, Rochdale.
The second ‘Irish Rochdale’ evening will include raffles, tombola’s, stalls, ‘open the box’ competition, and a St Patrick’s talent contest (Paddy Idol), all money raised will go to British Heart Foundation and Springhill Hospice.
Marie Callaghan has been extremely happy with the turnout at events so far: “I would like to thank everyone who gave so generously on out previous St Patrick’s Day event, which was held at Richmond Hall on 13 March. We’ve had so many generous donations and helpers, Devaney Owen Funeral Services even provided us with a limousine and a free meal for two.
We’ve been very lucky with local businesses donating everything from meal deals to Easter Eggs; I want to thank all donators for that. I can’t wait for Paddy Idol, and of course this wouldn’t have been possible without my son Jimmy who built the Irish Rochdale website.”
Paddy Idol is open to all ages and ideas, especially musicians and comedians, and all funds are going to charity. If you would like to try your hand at Paddy Idol, or would like to get involved with Irish Rochdale, please visit the website www.irishrochdale.com Admission tickets are £5.
