Mum attacked with a hot chicken in town centre

Police were called to Rochdale town centre at lunchtime today (Thursday 4 February) after a man threw a hot chicken at a woman and her baby.

Officers were called to Yorkshire Street at 1.30pm where the man had taken the recently purchased hot chicken and thrown it at the woman after hurling abuse at her and asking what she was “looking at”.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Police were called to a store on Yorkshire Street, Rochdale at approximately 13:28 today following an altercation between a man and woman.

"The man followed the woman and shouted abuse, before throwing a hot chicken at her and her baby.

"The woman and baby were not hurt."

Enquiries are ongoing.
