Date published: 05 February 2016

An insight into teaching has cemented Sunita Ghosh’s career choice of Primary Education after completing an exciting work experience placement.

Bury College A Level student Sunita, from Rochdale, completed a week long placement at Bamford Academy where she was responsible for working alongside year 3 and 4 pupils.

Sunita, 18, undertook responsibilities that included supporting children in their lessons, shadowing the teachers and working with children with a range of different abilities.

Sunita, who is studying A Level English Language, IT and Media, secured the placement through the Bury College dedicated work experience placement co-coordinator who provides students with work experience opportunities and allows students to gain skills for career progression.

The former Matthew Moss High School pupil said: “I am really glad I was given the opportunity to complete the work experience placement and liked the primary school environment. The placement improved my confidence and I now feel more independent.

Sunita will now progress onto Manchester Metropolitan University where she will study Primary Education for three years.

Sunita added: “I have really enjoyed my time at Bury College, the tutors have been great and I have received a lot of support from tutors.”
