Go and have a ball!

Date published: 12 February 2016

Rochdale Town Hall will be buzzing with talent from around the borough for the mayor’s annual charity ball on Saturday 12 March.

Everyone is invited to the glitzy and glamourous bash which will see performances from rising local star Lydia Gillibrand, European brass champions Wardle Youth Band and new five-piece, Soul City during a six-course gourmet meal in the magnificent setting of the Great Hall.

Early bird tickets are priced at just £40 but with the special offer ending this Sunday (14 February). Tables of 10 are available for £350. Anyone wanting to buy tickets should visit mayorsball.eventbrite.co.uk or visit the Town Hall reception.

Mayor and mayoress Surinder and Cecile Biant are hoping to give their chosen charities a big boost by raising several thousand pounds from the event. At the end of their year of office all proceeds will be added to other funds already raised and shared out between Springhill Hospice, Petrus, Rochdale Deaf Children, Pakeeza Womens Group and Shopmobility.

Mayor Surinder Biant said: “I’ve had a fantastic Mayoral year so far, it has been so interesting to meet such a range of people from around the borough. My charity ball will be a celebration of the best our fantastic borough has to offer, from the venue to the food and the entertainment.

“The ball will be the biggest fund-raising event of the year and will be full of glitz and glamour. Over half the tickets have already been sold so I urge everyone who wants to come to take advantage of my early bird offer.”

The mayor and mayoress are also appealing to local businesses to get involved to help further boost their charity funds. A number of sponsorship packages are available, including entertainment sponsor, auction sponsor and seating plan sponsor. All packages include a table of 10 and advertising in the event programme and start from just £675.

Businesses can also donate auction and raffle prizes or place advertisements in the evening’s brochure.
