A man had to be freed from his car this morning (Thursday 28 April) after a three-car collision in Heywood.

Police, fire crews and paramedics arrived on scene on Green Lane at 8.30am after calls that three vehicles had collided, resulting in one driver being trapped.

The drivers of the other two cars are believed to be unhurt.

The trapped driver was taken to The Royal Oldham Hospital.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers were called to Green Lane at 8.30 this morning. A male driver was extracted from the vehicle. He was later taken to hospital for treatment.”

Green Lane was closed in both directions but was reopened at 10.26am, and traffic has resumed as normal.
