Police Hunt for Stolen Morphine

Officers in Rochdale are warning the public after a quantity of potentially lethal drugs were stolen from a house over the weekend.

The burglary occurred between 7pm on Saturday 13 August 2005 and 12.45am at a property in the Marland area of Rochdale. The resident returned home at this time and found that his rear door had been kicked through.

The offender had taken electrical equipment including a stereo, DVD recorder and a computer, as well as a quantity of prescribed morphine medication. The drugs are in blister packs and the tablets are orange in colour.

The drugs are potentially lethal if taken without doctor's advice and officers ask that if found they are taken to the nearest police station or chemists.

Anyone with information about the drugs, or other items stolen from the burglary, is asked to call Rochdale Police on 0161 872 50 50 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
