Date published: 17 May 2016
A driver had to be freed from his car after a two-vehicle collision on Manchester Road.
Police, paramedics and fire crews attended the scene on the A58 on Monday after calls that a Silver Honda and a Blue Peugeot had crashed causing one male to become trapped. Two fire engines arrived and the technical response unit arrived from Rochdale Fire Station and were on site for 30 minutes while the man was freed.
The driver managed to escape with only minor injuries and was taken to Rochdale Infirmary for non-emergency treatment.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers arrived on the scene at 5.20pm after calls that a Silver Honda and Blue Peugeot had collided on the A58. Traffic officers were redirecting traffic while the area was cleared up but everything returned to normal after a short time."
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews had attended the scene and freed a trapped male from one of the vehicles.
North West Ambulance Service confirmed the man had been taken to hospital but had escaped with minor injuries.
