Josh Cooper triumphs at the GMCG Music and Performing Skills Competition

Date published: 19 May 2016

Josh Cooper from Hopwood Hall College won the Level 2 Acting category at GMCG Music and Performing Skills Competition.

Over 70 talented performers from eight colleges across Greater Manchester competed at various levels from Level 1-3 in the categories of Acting, Dancing, Singing and Musical Theatre at Bury College on Friday 13 May.

The annual GMCG Skills Competitions are a celebration of excellence across the collective colleges in Greater Manchester. They are an opportunity for colleges to showcase their student’s abilities and to share success and good practice.

Andy Tomlinson, Curriculum Manager for Performing Arts and Music at Bury College said: “The level of talent on the day was fantastic, as was the range of material on offer. We were very fortunate to have two industry experts from Bolton Octagon in Christiana Lydon and Ben Occiphinti to be the judges. They were seriously impressed, which speaks volumes for the finalists, and the tutors who help develop their talents.”
