Date published: 23 June 2016

A teenage motorcyclist has been taken to hospital by air ambulance after his motorcycle collided with a car on Smithy Bridge Road.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 11.30am after the collision between a Toyota Yaris and a Qinqgi motorbike.

A North West Air Ambulance landed in a nearby field and the man, in his late teens, was taken to Wythenshaw Hospital for treatment.

The elderly driver of the Toyota Yaris is believed to be shaken up but has not been taken to hospital.
