Date published: 23 June 2016

Police are hunting two men in connection with a vicious and unprovoked attack on a man who was out having a drink with friends in Rochdale town centre.

The victim was in the Dali Bar in the early hours on Sunday 1 November 2015 when he was targeted by two men who punched him simultaneously to both sides of his face.

The victim fell to the ground and was later escorted by doormen along with the attackers, before being taken to hospital where he needed to undergo surgery on his jaw.

Police have now released CCTV images of two men they wish to speak to in connection with this incident.

The first offender is described as white, around 6ft 3in tall, between 20 and 30 years old, of muscular build with blonde hair, blue eyes and a goatee beard.

The second offender is described as white, in his late 20s, around 6ft 1in tall, with ginger hair and green eyes.

Detective Constable Russ Clarke said: “This was a vicious attack which left the victim with serious facial injuries.

“Anybody who was in the area at the time and may have information regarding this assault should call the police.

“If you know who these people are, please come forward so we can prevent more innocent people, who are doing nothing more than socialising at the weekend, becoming victims.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting incident number 091115/1187, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
