Rochdale Petrus Community Film Premiere

Rochdale Petrus Community has announced the Premiere of its first film "Petrus - My Story’ at the Odeon Cinema, Sandbrook Park, Rochdale at 11.00am on Tuesday 27 November 2007.
Lynda Robinson, Chairwoman of Rochdale Petrus Community said: "The film is a moving account of the stories of the people who come to Petrus and use its services. We are delighted to Premiere this film at the Odeon and we are looking forward to a very special event."
Celebrity guests will include: The Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, Councillor and Mrs Peter Evans; Kathy George, the actress who played Helen Cunningham in Hollyoaks and local actor Colin Meredith.
The film was made by service users from Petrus in conjunction with Candella Films, funding was received from the National Lottery.
Kathy George will present certificates to the film makers after the Premiere.
Rochdale Petrus Community was formed in 1972 when a lodging house on River Street closed rendering twenty single men homeless. Rochdale Petrus now provides support for up to 58 people in six housing projects and 37 through the floating support scheme. In addition Petrus runs a day centre which is used by up to 80 people each day and an outreach service.
