Thursday 30 June

  • Officers called to a male shoplifter in Asda who attempted to steal £60 of air fresheners. 
  • Concern is growing for the whereabouts of a missing teenage boy from Rochdale, Kahalid Ullah. Kahalid, who may also use the name Khalid Laghmany, was reported missing on 20 June 2016. He is 14 years old.
  • A nine-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with “serious facial injuries” after being knocked down by a car in Heywood. Emergency services, including the North West Air Ambulance, arrived at Argyle Street after reports that the boy had been involved in a collision with a blue Toyota car.

Wednesday 29 June

  • Amin Khan (24/08/1992) has been charged with two counts of possess with intent to supply controlled drugs of class A and one count of possess with intent to supply controlled drugs of class B and aquire/possess criminal property. He was conveyed to Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court.
  • Jason Murangira (17/02/1977) has been charged with harassment and criminal damage and bailed with conditions to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court on 17 July.
  • Anthony Erickson (09/05/1963) has been charged with assault and bailed with conditions to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court on 22 July.
  • Kelechi Reid (28/01/1994) has been charged with producing controlled drugs and bailed to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court on 29 July.
  • Fire crews were called to Fairfield Hospital in Bury after reports of a 'chemical incident' in which three people were assessed by medical staff. Paramedics assisted Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service after calls that peracetic acid had been spilled on hospital grounds and needed urgently clearing up.

Tuesday 28 June

  • Burglars smashed their way into a Springhill Hospice charity shop just weeks after it opened. Tools are believed to have been used to smash through the metal door frame and break the glass. The thieves made off with a TV.
  • Siobhan Robinson (04/01/1985) has been charged with assault and criminal damage and conveyed to Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court.
  • Muhammed Azam (24/02/1985) has been charged with assault and bailed with conditions to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court 11 July.
  • There were two thefts in the Wardle Area overnight - a number of flag stones were dug up and stolen. Any information call 101.

Monday 27 June

  • Police are appealing for the public's help to track down 42-year-old Genci Koburi who is wanted for violent disorder. Koburi (born 08/09/1973), who has had addresses in Radcliffe and Rochdale, is wanted for violent disorder following a large-scale brawl which took place at a pub in Radcliffe in May 2015. 
  • Dean Farrar, a serial child abuser who posed as a teenage boy to contact 11,000 children across the globe in a catalogue of sexual abuse, has been jailed for a decade. The 50-year-old pervert from Rochdale pleaded guilty to numerous sex crimes, including distributing indecent images of children, causing a child under 13 to watch sexual activity, and inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
  • Kieron Smith (07/07/1986), from Rochdale, has been charged with drink driving and no insurance and bailed to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court on 8 July.
