Tributes pour in for Akbar Masood

Tributes have flooded in for Akbar Masood, who tragically died after being stabbed on Kellett Street in the early hours of Friday morning.

Akbar's sister, Sania Ox said: “My brother was perfect; he always will be. He was a really funny guy with a good sense of humour, and the cheekiest smile. He always got on with everyone. He was kind and helpful to everyone, regardless of who they were.

“He had a top personality, he was so childish, but still so amazing.

“He was the best brother ever, even better than I could ever ask for.”

Mohammed Sheraz said: “Devastated to hear the loss of innocent life of Akbar Masood, I had the pleasure of being his youth worker in Rochdale, a nice young lad who I enjoyed the laughs and giggles with. Many a trip we visited he was part of my youth groups and projects in Wardleworth. I was just watching his video with the rest of the 'Don't Hate us Rate us Group' last week."

Eisha Biebz said: “Can’t believe cousin’s gone like this. He’s a great person and didn’t deserve this.”

Suli Rahman said: “May Allah grant him the highest level of jannah. I used to work with this brother last year at JD. He’s one of the best people I’ve met in my life.”

Aiman Majeed said: “Blessed and grateful to have known and spoken to you a few times brother. From what I have seen you are and always will be a wonderful character Akbar Masood. May Allah grant you the highest rank in jannah InshaAllah.

“Praying for you and your family.”

Sonia Hamied said: “Still in shock to hear about the sudden loss of an old friend Akbar Masood. A young lad whose life was taken away before its time.

“He was a genuine person with a good heart, always making people laugh and smile."
