Subway donate gloves to Langley House Trust

Date published: 29 November 2016

Langley House Trust in Rochdale has had a donation of gloves from Subway after over 10,000 gloves were collected across the region in aid of its ‘Gloves for Subs’ day.

The gloves collected have been given to 33 local shelters, and organisations, including Langley House Trust to help keep people warm during the colder months ahead.

Langley House Trust is a national charity which delivers offender rehabilitation services across England. It supports adult offenders and those at risk of offending, enabling them to make positive life changes and live crime-free.

Ben Bradshaw, Tekoa House, Langley House Trust said: "Thank you so much for the generous donation of gloves which is hugely appreciated by the residents here at Tekoa House.

"The temperature during these coming winter months can drop to extremely cold levels and a pair of warm gloves makes a huge difference and is greatly appreciated. It is most thoughtful and kind of everyone who has helped with this donation appeal."

The gloves were collected in a unique event, which took place between 11.00am and 3.00pm on 25 October, allowing customers to donate a new pair of gloves in return of a six inch sub and a drink for only £1. Over 250 Subway stores took part in the charitable campaign, which is the first of its kind in the UK.

Subway Developer and Franchisee, Neil Denny commented: “We had a fantastic response from customers across the region and we would like to thank everyone who donated gloves.

"Subway stores are all run by local franchisees and it is their efforts that have made the campaign such a success.

"The organisations that we are donating the gloves to do so much good work in the local community and we are proud to be able to support them in this way.”
