Date published: 02 December 2016

Staff members from ‘Carers Trust in Greater Manchester’ (an independent local charity working in Rochdale), celebrated with cake when they were informed that they have been awarded the title ‘Centre of Excellence’ following an inspection by the national Carers Trust Quality Team.

This is the highest quality level that can be awarded and only one of four awarded in the north west and the first in Greater Manchester.

The national Carers Trust charity endorses a range of quality assurance processes aimed to ensure consistently high standards across the UK.

When the Carers Trust quality team inspected the local charities services, they met with staff, trustees and clients as part of the process. The areas they reviewed were: governance, finance, care services and young carers.

The charity’s CEO Paul Parlby, said: “We are really proud of the new award which will give carers even greater confidence in the quality of services they can expect from us.”

Carers Trust in Greater Manchester specialise in supporting carers, including young carers, their families and loved ones who require social care support in their own homes.
